Catalog and products
Add, edit, import and organise what you sell.
- How do I add a product in Anchor?Open Catalog, choose Add Product, fill in the name and price, and save. Add SKU, category, photos and stock to make answers more useful.
- How do I edit or delete a product? In Catalog, use the edit button on the product’s row to change it, or the delete button to remove it. Deleting cannot be undone.
- What is the difference between an active and an inactive product?Active products are part of your live catalog and stock views. Inactive products are kept but not offered. Use the status filter in Catalog to see either.
- How do I search and filter my catalog?Use the search box (name, SKU or category) and the status filter at the top of Catalog. Results are paginated.
- What are product variants?Variants are versions of one product, such as size and colour. Each variant can have its own name, SKU, price and stock, or inherit the product’s price.
- How do I add variants to a product? In Catalog choose Variants for the product, then Add variant and enter a name (for example Large / Blue), optional SKU, price and stock.
- What happens if a product has no variants?A product without variants sells as a single item, using the product’s own price and stock.
- Can I upload product photos?Yes. Product photos are validated on size, declared type and the file’s real contents before they are stored.
- What is a SKU and do I have to use one?A SKU is your own code for a product. It is optional, but SKUs make search, imports and duplicate detection much more reliable.
- Can I compare two products?Yes. Select two or more products in Catalog and choose Compare to see them side by side.
- How do product attributes work?Attributes are extra fields such as colour or socket type. They power compatibility checks and help the assistant answer detailed questions.
- What are compatibility rules?Compatibility rules let you define once how two products relate (for example CPU socket must equal motherboard socket). Anchor then checks any pair deterministically, never by model guess.
- Why does the compatibility check say Unknown?Unknown means no rule applies to the pair, or the products are missing the attributes the rule needs. Add the attributes or a rule and check again.
- How many products can I have?It depends on your plan. Settings shows your plan’s limits for team members and products; some plans are unlimited.
- How do I keep my catalog accurate for the AI?The assistant answers from your catalog, so keep names, prices, descriptions and stock current. Missing data leads to "I don’t know" or a hand-off, not a guess.
- Can I import my catalog from a spreadsheet?Yes. Import Catalog accepts CSV or Excel (.xlsx) with at least name and price columns, and shows a preview before anything is saved.
