Brand guidelines
How to use the Pinevon and Anchor marks.
Summarised from Pinevon's and Anchor's own internal brand guides. Where a rule applies to Anchor specifically, it is labelled as documented there rather than verified in this repository.
The Pinevon symbol
The Pinevon mark is a single faceted peak on a grounded pillar: an ascending peak (growth, direction, “pine”), a two-plane fold (depth, craftsmanship), and a form planted on solid ground — a platform other products stand on. The two-tone split between a lighter blue face and a violet-leaning face is the one deliberate signature detail that carries at every size, including 16px. This is the exact mark rendered in the live site header today.

Colour
The gradient above is used only on the symbol and marketing surfaces (social avatars, OG images). The site’s working UI runs on its own token scale, shown below with real hex values from app/globals.css.

Typography
Pinevon sets headings and UI in Inter, weight 800, lowercase, tight tracking — the same typeface used across the live site (see the wordmark next to the symbol in the header).
Anchor is documented in its own brand guide as using Bricolage Grotesque, weight 800, title case, deliberately different from Pinevon’s Inter — giving Anchor its own product personality while staying in the same geometric, high-legibility family. That decision lives in Anchor’s repository, not this one.
Usage rules
Clear space
Keep at least half the symbol’s height as empty margin on every side.
Minimum size
Do not render the symbol below 16px; at very small sizes use the flat single-colour version, symbol only, no wordmark.
Backgrounds
Gradient mark on white or light neutral backgrounds; white mark on colour or photography; never place the gradient version on a busy photo background.
Don’t
- Recolour the symbol outside its defined gradient or monochrome variants
- Stretch it non-uniformly
- Rotate it
- Add a drop shadow or other effect
- Add a literal anchor hook or chain back into the Anchor mark
- Mix Pinevon’s blue/violet into the Anchor symbol itself
How Pinevon and Anchor relate
Pinevon is the parent platform; Anchor is its first product, not a second company. Anchor’s mark is independently distinct — its own colour (green, versus Pinevon’s blue-to-violet), its own geometry (one node branching into two, meant to diagram Anchor’s actual one-data-layer, two-assistant architecture) — but shares the same construction logic: rounded terminals, a gradient, generous internal whitespace. A future Pinevon product would follow the same rule: its own symbol, in its own colour, built the same way.
