Learning objectives

By the end of this lesson you will be able to:

  • Name the three kinds of suggestion.
  • Explain what approving each one does.
  • Apply a short review checklist before approving.

The three suggestions

  • A follow-up message for a quote that has had no reply.
  • A restock suggestion for a product that may run out.
  • An alert about unusual sales.

What approving does

  • Follow-up message: sends one message, as your team, into the customer’s existing conversation on its channel. If you edit the draft, your edited version is sent.
  • Restock suggestion: records your decision. Anchor has no purchasing integration and does not order stock.
  • Sales alert: records that you have seen and accepted it. Nothing is sent.

Who approves, and what is approved

Only an owner or admin can approve or reject. The approval is tied to the exact text and details shown: if the suggestion changes before approval, the approval is refused, so what runs is what was reviewed. Which suggestions appear depends on your plan and on the data available.

Illustrative example · fictional data

Editing before approving

A made-up quote and customer.

  1. A quote for 40 desk organisers has had no reply for four days; Anchor drafts a follow-up.
  2. The owner changes "delivery next week" to a date the team can meet.
  3. The owner approves; the edited message is sent into the customer’s conversation.
  4. The action history records who approved it and when.

Practical exercise · planning

Write your review checklist

  1. Write three checks you will make before approving a follow-up (customer, facts, tone).
  2. Write one reason you would reject a restock suggestion even if stock is low.
  3. Decide who in your team is allowed to approve (it must be an owner or admin).

Recap

  • Three suggestion types: follow-up, restock, sales alert.
  • Only a follow-up sends anything; restock and alerts record a decision.
  • Owner or admin only, and approval covers exactly what was shown.

Knowledge check
