What to share, what to keep out, and what to ask providers.

Rules of thumb

  • Send only what is needed for the task.
  • Keep passwords, payment card numbers and government IDs out of AI tools.
  • Know which providers process your data (see Subprocessors).
  • Tell customers when they are talking to an AI.
